Davy Jones dies of heart attack at age 66

Yesterday, singer Davy Jones died after suffering a heart attack, E! Online reports. The former Monkees frontman was 66.

Monkees singer Davy Jones passed away on Wednesday morning following a heart attack.  TMZ was the first to report the news and confirmed it later after speaking to Rhonda Irons, spokeswoman of the Martin County Sheriff's Office.  Jones’ representative, Helen Kensick, explained that the musician accused breathing problems and was taken to the hospital that morning. There, he was pronounced dead.

The death of former Monkees lead singer Davy Jones was a shock for all his close ones, and not only. Immediately after his reported death, thousands of mourners, more or less famous flooded Twitter with tributes . Of the celebrities, Will Smith, Eva Longoria, Lisa Rinna, Alyssa Milano, Jill Zarin, Melissa Gilbert are just a few of the incredible number that shared R.I.P. messages online.  As the fans and the mass media, they also put an accent on the young age that Jones passed away at.

“Oh my God, Davy Jones died at 66. That's way too young”, said Wil Wheaton.

“R.I.P.  Davy Jones! To young! Such a wonderful voice! Loved the Monkees Daydream Believer”, Jill Zarin added.
